Small yam/Seppankizhangu-250gms


Curry leaves - handful

Jeera seeds - 1 spoon


Chilli powder-3 tsp

Coriander powder-11/2 tsp

Rice flour-half tsp

besan flour - 1 spoon

Onion-small Chopped

Turmeric powder-half tsp

Sombu/Fennel seed powder-1 tsp

Salt to taste

Oil to shallow fry

Method

Cook the yam in hot water until it turns firm and soft, in pressure cooker 2 whistles

Peel the skin and chop them into half if small or more than 2 slices if big (in semi circles)
Mix the powders and salt.
Heat the oil in a pan, add curry leaves, jeera seeds and onions, sprinkle the powder and mix well...then add the yam, gently turn it around...

when it is slightly brown, add Rice flour, besan flour and saute it. You can close it with a lid for a minute to get rid of the raw smell of the powder.

Fry until it turns golden...Enjoy!
