Yam & black eyed beans (Senai & thatta payiru)



Yam - 1/4 kg
Black eye beans - 50 grams
Onion - 1 big sliced
Sambar Powder - 1 tbsp
Chilly powder - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Tomato - 1 large (sliced)


boil senai for one whistle and black eye beans for two whistles. Add jeera and sombu in oil with onions, then add sambar powder + chilly powder, salt and fry. Then add cut tomatoes and mash up the whole thing. pour water and let it boil. Meanwhile add senai and keep stirring gently to mix masalas with it. In the end when oil starts separating, add the black eyed beans and keep for a minute...This is a semi solid masala curry, goes well as a side dish.
