This chutney is my own variation from coconut chutney. It tastes different and goes so well with Idli and Dosai.

1/2 coconut

1/2 inch ginger
2 big dry red chilly (if you need it a bit spicy)
tamarind - little
Procedure
Add two tbsp oil, fry urad dal and dry red chillies first. Then, add chopped ginger and onion. When onion turns a bit brown, add tamarind. In the end add coconut. Fry till coconut releases a nice aroma.
Grind the above with little water and do the tadka with mustard seeds, urad dal, curryleaves.
