Rava Semiya Idli

Rava/Sooji (thick variety)- 2 cups

Semiya/Semolina - 1 cup

Curd - 1.5 cups

Eno salt - 2 tbsp

For seasoning: mustard, jeera, urad dal, channa dal, whole pepper, ginger grated a bit, curry leaves

oil - 2 tbsp

Fry Rava and semiya separately until slightly roasted and the colour changes. Cool it. Semiya should become a bit brown.

Mix curd to it.

Fry the seasoning items in 2 tbsp oil and add to the above mixture along with the oil.

Let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes. If the batter is too thick, add 2 - 3 spoons of water and adjust consistency.

Just before making the idlis, mix Eno salt into the above mixture.

Grease the idli plates with oil and make idlis as usual. Takes about 12 to 15 minutes to cook.

This is a really yummy receipe. Very much tested and tried.

Rava Idli Kurma or Coconut chutney goes well with this. My DH always eats this with Idli chilly powder :)
