When shopping in one of Chennai's supermarkets (Reliance Fresh), I found this soya granules packet and immediately came up with an idea, why not try vegetarian minced mutton style curry with this!!
The texture and size looked very close to that. So, went ahead and tried, it came out really well. Liked by my family members. Am posting here so that you can try and let me know whether you enjoyed it.
Ingredients:
Soya granules - 200 gms
Onion - 1 big(square cut small size)
Curry leaves
Sombu - 1 tsp
Cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf, elachi
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
chopped tomato - 1
mutton curry/garam masala/coriander/red chilly - 1 tbsp each of these powders
Dry red chilly - 2 nos
Method:
- In 2 tbsp of oil, add whole garam masalas (Cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf, elachi)
- Fry onions till they turn slightly brown
- Add ginger garlic paste and fry till oil separates
- Add tomatoes, when they turn mushy, add the masala powders
- add 1 cup water and boil till the raw smell goes.
- Then, add the soya granules and cover for 10 minutes.
Check if it has cooked after 10 minutes, else boil for some more time with the lid. When all the water is absorbed, the minced meat masala is ready.
